BPO Job – No Longer a Taboo for Career Option

30th May, 2011 - Here was a time when BPO job was considered to be a temporary job option for many of us. Today, this industry has successfully proven successful in the global outsourcing industry and a greater percentage of the Indian population is relied on it. Almost more than 35 % of the total global sourcing, India has made a stranding position where a great variety of talent is controlling various technical and non- technical business processes. In the last few years, it has been observed that the BPO industry has recruited professionals from diverse backgrounds related to law, engineering, business administration, finance and banking. The growth and high salary package offered by these BPOs are acting as the two important factors that have pulled many intellectuals from their mainstream and keep themselves intact with the new opportunities offered by this industry.

Today, Indian youth loves to work under a professional environment of BPO industry. This industry has bloomed in such a pace that even the students have started to prefer this sector as their career option. Today, Indian BPO industry is no more an area of insecurity and that is why people from all the educational background has started to aspire a building career in the areas of call center services, data entry services, financial services, web analytics services, software development, research and analysis services, etc.

India's talent is counted amongst the top nations for outsourcing KPO services as well. The well-structured academic program of India and the flexibility to speak diverse language has supported the cause for why this country is always preferred to be the best in the BPO and KPO industry. India produces thousands of engineers, doctors, IT professionals, lawyers and many such intellectuals that are essential to constitute an industry that delivers services fully based on pure knowledge and skills. Therefore, the quest for such merit is always rewarded with a great opportunity and financial reward. NASSCOM reported that the revenues from the Indian BPO industry are expected to be Rs 76,423 crore ($17,191 million) in FY 2011.

She says that the work is commanding and she has no regret to be a part of this industry. Besides, she added that she was happy with the financial rewards. The BPO industry is also seen with professionals, who take a prime responsibility in recruiting man-power for diverse areas. A talented youth Nidhi Rai, who holds an MBA degree In Sales, quit her job as a senior marketing executive with a top-notch automobile company to join as a HR(Recruiting) in a leading BPO in Delhi. There are numerous such case that reflects the scope of this Industry in promoting youth for a better and secured career in this century.

In the meantime, it is also a great opportunity for the undergraduates to pursue a career that boosts their ability in handling diverse opportunities in the field of calling processes and other technical aspects. Many renowned IT institutes are training organizations are preparing themselves for a career that gives them enough confidence and money from an early period. Here, the proficiency in their relevant subject matter and language really counts.

In one of the global conference led by Global Hunt, its director said that in the present scenario, 80% of the total recruitment encompassed specialized skills of employability as compared to the past years. It is no more a stop-gap career option. There was a time when people use to join a BPO until they did not find their aim. But now, it has been considered to be a high-income sector along with a career that emerges with better scope for self-development. People are also seeing investing a lot of their efforts to join the BPOs in other job avenues that are related to transportation, catering, training and recruitment, security agencies, etc. For the BPOs, these BPO services are inevitable and supporting the industry for a better work-flow management.
