Outsourcing is bigger topic in India than US

Outsourcing of services has been around for more than a decade. But noises around it continue, with direct and indirect barriers erected around it (like visas). How much does it matter? As a country and as a world, we have passed that notion of shifting jobs purely for the sake of cost advantage. I think cost advantages were extreme 10 years ago and it made a lot of sense. Those advantages have shrunk over the years. Look at attrition — many outsourcing companies have 25-30% annual attrition, increasing costs of doing business and impacting quality. You can’t run a sustainable, high quality business based on that. Costs will increase. I don’t think outsourcing is a compelling argument or reason, in the long term, for jobs shifting from one part of the world to another. It’s like level of water —when the level is too high it will flow from higher level to the lower level. Much like work shifted from one country to another, as wage disparity was high. Whether it is clothes, that were mad...

Image
After see the news yesterday about India Inc.’s plan of action to Start operations in Eastern Europe and hire multilinguals to work on the European finance and accounting industry does not shocked me anymore. Previously it discussed about how Europe can be more comfortable with outsourcing all over the Asian countries specially to the Philippines. It has been discussed that Philippine Outsourcing re-focusing its activities to the European market in place of US political and trade condition changes. There is no doubt if there is outsourcing need in European countries the most necessary question to ask is how to monetize this growing economic process. There are several ways to make it true. Outsourcing organizations can hire multilingual professional or they can set up operations in the Eastern region of Europe where there are more European-languages speakers who charge at common sensible rates or they can do both. A good strategy for small to medium size outsourcing companies or Call C...

Many of the U.S. firms have jointly, launched a campaign against the newly proposed law as it would lead to a job loss of as many as 2.2 million Americans. The Technology CEO Council, a Washington-based advocacy group of U.S. American tech-companies, in its protest has released a report that reveals the affects of the new policy of Obama administration to end 'tax breaks'. Obama's announcement no tax breaks to outsourcing companies, is politics - US expert Say

US management expert and chief executive of Linkage Inc, a global firm say that US President Barack Obama's announcement no tax breaks to the outsourcing companies, is just politics Whatever Obama is doing is just politics. It's the arrogance of the US to think creating jobs overseas will result in job losses back home. According to Harkins such measures (offering tax sops) will not stop US firms from outsourcing talent where it's available at a best cost. Terming Obama's observations on outsourcing as political posturing, Harkins said in the recent globalised world, companies look for sharing resources, be they human or investments, to remain competitive and sustain growth even in a downturn. 'I don't think American firms will stop outsourcing jobs overseas only just for availing tax incentives at home in a global economy. By outsourcing business where they are beneficial and cost-effective, they actually protect jobs back home and stay competitive,' he s...
